Kid Sized Beers

Beers seem to be shrinking.  We first ran into this in St Martin.  Heineken beers in St Martin are 9.2 oz vs 12 oz.  Besides feeling like you are getting ripped off....remember cruisers are cheap er frugal....it feels like you are drinking a kids drink.

We went ashore in Jolly Harbor Antigua and stopped for a cool adult bev at the Crow's Nest sports bar.  FYI - first sports are we have ever been to that plays classical music and only has 3 tv's total!  But I digress - we ordered Wadadli, the local Antigua beer.  It was one of these mini beers. Ok.  Next round we ordered Caribe, one of our favorite beers down here.  When she brought the beers, these were minis too.  What the heck!  I actually looked around to be sure we weren't getting punked.  I noticed another patron drinking a Banks beer, it was a mini.  Weird.  As a former British colony, these should be pints so maybe it's an Antigua thing.  Can you imagine what the Auzzie sailors think as they are used to oil can size beers!

  1. They are Asian sized! I buy the smaller beers when I can. I wont waste as much since I can't drink a full beer (look up Asian Flush/ aldh2 deficiency). Plus the smaller ones stay cold long enough for me to drink them :)

  2. I do wear my Oakley Asian Fit Sunglasses while drinking my Asian sized beer (at least during the summer).

I'm totally fine not being able to drink full beers/drinks. There are definitely more pros than cons. A) I've never had a hangover B) I've never gotten sick from drinking C) I can drink expensive drinks and not feel guilty because my one $10 drink will last me all night. D) Even when I've been drunk I remember everything.

The only downside- I have to explain why I go from 'yellow to pink' when I drink ;)
