I missed my chance last season to get a nutmeg grater. It is high on the "must get this season" list and yesterday Tom bought me one at the annual Grenada Christmas Bazaar (arts and craft market). It came with only one nutmeg inside and thus I will have to purchase more so we have enough to make it through the season. We grate nutmeg on oatmeal, in smoothies, in drinks, on and in sweets and many more uses. Speaking of which, at the Christmas Bazaar. I had homemade nutmeg ice cream that was super yummy. *The lemongrass ice cream was good too. Very refreshing. Thank you Patti for giving me a sample of your cone!
Grenada is known as The Spice Island, a very appropriate name. The Christmas Bazaar was held at True Blue Resort. They had a Christmas tree beautifully decorated up with various spices such as cinnamon pieces, sparkly sachets of nutmeg, and tiny bottles of saffron, ground ginger, and cloves. It was very unique.
