OMG The Stovetop Smoker - Smoked Fish

Cameron Stovetop Smoker

I brought a small stovetop smoker along when we moved aboard.  We had yet to use it.....until now.  Actually, I had really only used it a few times back on land because we always ended up using our Bullet smoker and/or kettle grill because if we were going to smoke up some meats then we were going to smoke up a whole mess of meats at one time - ribs, chicken thighs, fatties, etc....  The thing only uses 1 or 2 Tablespoons of fine wood chips.  I happened to bring Bourbon Soaked Oak wood chips.

Anyway.....results......OMG.  We smoked two small batches of fish - Wahoo and Maui Maui.  OMG.  20 mins for the Wahoo and 15 for Maui Maui.  OMG!  They were both amazing.  We immediately started talking about all the other foods we can smoke - pork, chicken, breadfruit, almonds and of course fish.  This galley equipment is going to regular rotation now.

Update -
A few nights ago we smoked chicken in the stovetop smoker.  Two full legs (drumstick and thigh) and two wings.  20 mins -Yumo!

Final note -
Yes, I know you can use regular pots and build a smoker box and such,  but I know me, and I wouldn't.  And even though this is a special galley tool - read single use (gasp- cough- choke), it's a mini model and stores easily on our boat.  We may even drag it ashore for beach cookouts.
